All American Backcountry Fishing Tournament November 13-15 2014
A Prestigious Event, Drawing Anglers From Around The Globe
The All American Backcountry Fishing Tournament at Cheeca Lodge began November of 2012 in Islamorada. This tournament is predicated by Cheeca’s legendary George Bush/Cheeca Lodge Bonefish Tournament, hosted by President George H.W. Bush from 1994 to 2003.
Now in its third year, the Cheeca Lodge All American Backcountry Tournament confirms the resort’s position as the premier sportfishing destination in Islamorada, the “sport fishing capital of the world.” This celebrated fishing tournament brings Cheeca’s singular brand of casual elegance to every aspect, from the trophies to the gift bags to the banquets.
The beneficiary of the 2014 tournament is the Guides Trust Foundation which assists Florida Keys fishing guides in need, helping them meet their financial obligations in times of crisis or injury. The GFT also awards scholarships to local students. For more information and donation forms, please visit the Guides Trust website.
